Group Messaging Privacy Notice

Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) prohibits the sending of commercial electronic messages (CEMs), including text messages and other forms of digital messaging if the CEM encourages participation in a commercial activity.

The Children’s Aid Society of the District of Thunder Bay (TBCAS) requires your consent to send text messages to you that promote, advertise or offer goods and/or services. While partaking in commercial activities is not a core function of TBCAS, some of the following examples, may be construed as commercial in nature, or may fall under a CASL exception:

· Providing information about upcoming opportunities, workshops, youth programming and/or similar training or events.

· Online surveys or messages that solicit your feedback.

· Messages that provide general information about TBCAS’s services

If you consent to receiving CEMs, such as the examples described above, please reply with “Y” to opt-in or “N” to opt-out. Please note you can withdraw your consent at any time by replying with the word “STOP”.
