Volunteer Resources

We appreciate the time and commitment of our volunteers and the positive impact they have on children, youth and families. We celebrate our volunteers both formally and informally throughout the year.

The Children's Aid Society of the District of Thunder Bay (the Society) is looking for diverse, energetic and motivated individuals to volunteer.

Volunteers provide a range of direct and indirect supports to children, youth and families receiving services from the Society.

Volunteers come from all walks of life and have a variety of educational backgrounds, life experiences and abilities.

Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and are required to complete and interview, police check, orientation and onboarding process.

Volunteers working with The Children's Aid Society of the District of Thunder Bay donate their time according to their lifestyles, with time commitments ranging from weekly to semi-annually.

Do you have a safe/reliable vehicle and flexibility in your schedule to provide transportation to a child, youth or family?Consider becoming a Driver

Are you a passionate, inspiring, optimistic and empathetic person?
Consider becoming a Mentor or Recreation Buddy. Mentors and Recreation Buddies work one-on-one with a child/youth in need of a mentor or friend.

Are you a patient, motivating person who excels in academics?
Consider becoming a Tutor. Tutors provide one-on-one help to children and youth in need of educational assistance.
