Emergency Care Caregivers

Opening your home — even temporarily — can change a child's path forever.

We are looking for Emergency Care Homes to provide immediate short‑term care for children and youth who cannot safely remain in their family home due to urgent concerns.. Placements may last from a single night to several weeks while longer‑term plans are made.

As an Emergency Caregiver you will not have all the answers — you just need the willingness to offer safety, patience, and care. Placements focus on:

  • Safety and supervision
  • Emotional reassurance
  • Stability during crisis

Children and youth of all ages may require emergency placement. When children  need a safe place right now, our community steps forward.  Each child  arrives with their own experiences, strengths and needs but they all share the need for safety, kindness and understanding.

Emergency Care placements are often short‑term, but the impact is long lasting. A caring home — even for a few nights — can help a child feel safe, supported and seen during one of the most difficult moments of their life.

Emergency care allows time for careful planning that puts the child's best interests first.
