Welcome to the Internet Home of the Children's Aid Society of the District of Thunder Bay.
The Children's Aid Society has proudly worked in collaboration with our community to protect children from harm since 1908.
An important part of our work is educating our community about child maltreatment and its prevention, and the work we do throughout the District of Thunder Bay.
Please take a few moments to visit with us and learn more about our services and efforts to address child maltreatment throughout the District of Thunder Bay.
Suspect Child Maltreatment?
Everyone has a duty to report child maltreatment. If you know or suspect a child is being maltreated, you have a duty to report it to the Children's Aid Society. Everyone, including professionals, has a responsibility to protect children by reporting actual or suspected maltreatment.
Foster parents are concerned members of our community who want to help provide a safe, nurturing place to live for children who cannot live at home. Foster parents can help foster a child for a day or 2, or they help a child grow towards adulthood.
The Children's Aid Society offers several adoption services to families throughout the District of Thunder Bay. Our adoption services include: working with parents who are relinquishing a child for adoption; facilitating adoptions; and helping with adoption reunions.
The Children's Aid Society is looking for energetic, motivated individuals to volunteer with our organization. Volunteers assist us in providing a range of services to children and families in our community. We have a variety of volunteer positions available.
